Entwined Hearts - Halfway There

When I started writing Entwined Hearts, it was supposed to just be a bit of erotica in a quick romance. Quite literally, it was supposed to be the opposite of the mammoth it has become. It was going to be the award ceremony, the night of (without Fredrick), the following day, and the following night. That was all. Now, the sequence I'd planned to be the entire book is now a mere fraction.

The only person I can blame for this, other than myself, is my partner. He's also a writer, and he's a bit of a menace - because this man basically kept encouraging me to expand the book. And now, here we are, with about 180,000 written in three volumes...

While we've been working on getting this published fully, I can't say we haven't had hiccups. For example, I thought I'd be able to edit all 82 chapters before going on holiday with my friends... Something which definitely didn't happen, because it was only three weeks. Yeah, you heard that right - I tried to edit 82 chapters in three weeks.

Swiftly moving on...

During editing, one of three things happened - we found plotholes, we made plotholes, and we kept losing internet access. Ironically it was the latter which caused most of our issues - I would receive edit suggestions, do another round of edits, then send them to my partner for proofing again... And when your only way of transferring the files is via the internet, which repeatedly stopped working, life becomes very slow.

Thankfully, we stormed ahead and got both Volume One and Two complete before it became too big of an issue - however, this is why Volume Three's release date has been pushed back to October 31st along with the complete collection.

Anyhow, now the first two volumes are out, I'm eating a tub of ice cream [for breakfast] and questioning how I'm going to be able to finish Volume Three. Mostly, because I desperately don't want to say goodbye to these characters. They've been with me almost a year now and I've really fallen for them.

I suppose, writing their endings is going to make me feel sad and happy at the same time, and I have the consolation prize of knowing I've written a series of such length. But, it's still strange to think about.

And finally, if you've previously read Entwined Hearts - I would recommend going back and reading them again. Not because of vanity, but because a lot has changed. I found plotholes, realised there was a character missing... It's a whole mess.

And, to be fair, I'm not entirely sure if it's all been smoothed out - yet, I know I've done the best I can do under the circumstances and with the little resources I have!

Volume Three is coming October 31st, along with the Complete Collection; both will be containing bonus content.

Stay tuned!
