I think, if you've been following me for any length of time, you're all aware my books are typically based on old ideas which I've decided to revamp and release. My newest novel, which was set to begin releasing on February 9th, is no exception. The reason I've written that in past tense is because I'm no longer releasing that story.
My newest book was going to be about child abuse, how women were forced to stay with their abusive husbands due to disabilities being used against them in divorce court, and how men can abuse all kinds of power - no matter how little - to get what they want...
It was a plot I'd begun working on years ago and, after going through therapy to work on my child abuse trauma, I thought I was ready to write it. I wrote a lot, to the point the plot is finished. However, in the current state of the world - with the abuse being revealed on the daily, the complicity of governments, and society as a whole, and the lack of reaction from so many - I no longer feel like I'm in a safe mindset to publish this book.
I know this might be disappointing for some of you and I'm sorry for that. However, I can't be writing stories about people putting themselves and their mental health first, then not do the same. With that being said, Fleeting Fridays - the title of the novel - will be buried for the immediate future. I'm not sure if I'll ever publish it at this point, but we'll see as time moves on.
Thankfully, I have other work available and ready to take its place on the schedule - it's just not the gritty story we were all expecting.
Thank you for your support and I hope you understand.
