I’ve been desperately trying to get my life together in some form for the past three weeks. Yes: it’s been three weeks.
Thankfully, most people haven’t noticed – Sol Tiers are the ones who’ve missed uploads for the past two weeks but I’m still four weeks ahead for Sunflower and Seedling tiers.
When I thought about going on a hiatus, I genuinely felt like I was going disappoint everyone. I didn’t think anyone would want to remain subscribed, people would unfollow, my work would receive less engagement/views, etc. Instead, we’ve had an uptick on views for both Entwined Hearts and Highest of Priorities. We’ve also had new subs, new follows, and comments of support.
So, from this burnt-out author to my readers, I’d just like to say thank you. Your encouragement, continuing engagement, and overall support has been a massive help while I try to get everything put together.
Let’s go over what’s changed over the past few weeks:
- I have an office now! I was basically living in a 9x9 room which was also my kitchen, living room, and bedroom. But, with some recent moves – I now have a bedroom, a living room/office, and a kitchen! All separate! Thanks to a couple friends, I also have bookshelves for the first time ever.
- I’ve had multiple moments with a doctor who seems to actually listen – I don’t know if you’ve ever had a doctor listen to you [while being disabled] but it’s actually incredible. I hope it continues as I try to figure out why my reproductive system is trying to kill me.
- I have found out I may be able to get hearing aids for as cheap as £500 – which is great, but I still only make £10 a month on average… I set up a way for people to contribute to my hearing aid fund – you can buy my eBooks via the contribution page.
- I took down my books from my website – originally, it was because I was deciding on whether to continue allowing for eBook sales when they’re available online, especially due to the cost of the website [I really don’t have that money right now]. But I suspect them to be back soon; I’m hoping to have some Hearing Aid Fund editions – where you can pay what you want, rather than a set price. But I’m working on it.
- Rox is sick, I’m on hiatus, and Peri doesn’t do social media – meaning The Indies Catalogue is basically also on hiatus. We’ll get back to it eventually, but so far we’ve not actually had enough submissions to justify going live. Right now, I think there’s only eight books listed and five of those are mine… SUBMIT YOUR LINKS pretty please 💖
Anyways, that’s what I’ve been up to! It’s been a bit of a nightmare, but I promise I’ll be back soon. I might end up postponing When Life Gives You [Tomatoes], however; not because I don’t want to write it, but because I want to re-write it.
Between the Petals is also in need for a bit of work, so I’ll get on that. If you can bear with me while I get my entire existence sorted, I promise it’ll be worth it!
Right, I’ll sign off here before I start going on about the books I’ve been reading!
Take care my lovelies!
